Complete Wiki Madness Article List

Category WikiMadness
Sorry for the delay in wrapping Wiki Madness up. I'm hoping to have it all finished shortly.

The goal for the event was to get some of the great blog content onto the Product Wiki's so that the customers who read the Wiki's can benefit.  The second goal was to try and introduce the Wiki audience to the bloggers. Not everybody knows of all the Lotus Bloggers.

Below is a list of articles that were added to the wiki's from the Wiki Madness Event.  I've also head from a couple people that they saw noticeable traffic increase to their personal blogs from the IBM servers.

I think it's safe to say that we've not only met our goals but have far exceeded our expectations when we started this event.  There's some great articles in here.  Some are mind blowing, some are simple, but now all can hopefully gain visibility and find their way to the customer who is looking for the information.

Chris and I want to thank each and every contributor for the effort.  We also want to thank our sponsors for their amazing donations to this event.  An iPod, gift certificates, Software, Swag....  The response to our call was nothing short of amazing.

On Friday I'll be at the iPhone bootcamp put together by Snapps.  When I get home we'll get prize packs created, assigned and announced.

Last Day for Wiki Madness!

Category WikiMadness
Today is the last day you can submit wiki articles to the Wiki Madness Event.

We've hit 50 articles for the event which I think is phenomenal. I'll talk more about the event after the dust settles on this and NotesIn9 week, but suffice it to say that it's been a great success by any definition.

Several contributors have submitted multiple articles, so there's still great odds to get one of our prime giveaways.  All you need to do is add a wiki article today and submit the URL to wikimadness.com

And what do we have?

An iPod Shuffle from Intec.
2 $40 Gift Certificates for Amazon from Intec.
2 Licenses for Martin Scott's NotesMan Software
1 Dev or Admin suite license from Ytria
1 ScanEZ License from Ytria
5 mAddressBook Licenses from Hughes Connect
Lotus Swag Items including CULT shirt and Books from STS
Swag from Sherpa Software
Lotusphere Bookbags from NotesIn9 and Domino Guru
(Note - These can be CUSTOMIZED to add your OWN web address if you like!!!)
CD's from the Taking Notes Podcast

We have a lot of great stuff.  And since many of our contributors have posted more then one article your odds of getting something are EXTREMELY good.  For full details see Wiki Madness.

Wiki Madness - Free has never been easier

Category wikimadness
Marcus Foerster has just added another article to "WikiMadness".

It's a really good article called "Why cells sometimes cannot be merged in Notes Designer".

There's nothing really fancy here. It's a simple little "heads up" on working with tables in designer. Many of those reading my blog already know this I'm sure.  However, somewhere, out there, there's someone that does NOT know why this happens.  And that's the point of the Wiki Madness Event - to get more information from our intense little corner of the "Yellowverse" and get it to a place where more "normal" people can see it.  At the same time we want to make sure the "normals" are aware of the blogs and might someday become contributors themselves.

I commend Marcus and the other contributors for taking the time to add content to the Product Wikis. I know some of them have added multiple articles. There is still time left to add your own content.  It does not have to be NEW content.  Just new to the wiki's.  So if you have some old blog posts that might be a good addition to one of the MANY product wiki's, why not "recycle" it? It won't take long and you can only gain by doing so.

How do you gain?  Glad you asked.  The first is more visibility.  Lots of people hit the Product Wiki's.  How many?  Anywhere from thousands to around 150,000 per month.  That's a nice chunk of traffic.  Add a description about yourself on all your articles and include a link to your site and you might just get some more visibility. And just like diamonds, Wiki Articles are forever.

We also have some short term gain.  We call it rewards.  Intec has generously donated an iPod and a couple of Amazon Gift certificates.  Hughes Connect has donated licenses to a mobile phone application.  Martin Scott has donated NotesMan licenses.  Ytria has donated licenses to ScanEZ and one of their Suites. STS and the Taking Notes Podcast has donated various SWAG type items.  Chris Toohey and I have put in a couple of Lotusphere Bags and some other good stuff.

When all is said and done we will be putting together "prize packs" from this booty and shipping it out.

As it stands now your odds of getting at least something is really VERY GOOD!  See Wiki Madness for more details.

Wiki Madness Explodes with New Sponsors and More Free Software!

Category wikimadness
I'm proud to announce additional sponsors and give-aways to the Wiki Madness Event. We'll get the website updated as soon as possible.

Hughes Connect
Hughes Connect specializes in making Lotus Notes data mobile by web enabling the information and formatting it for mobile devices running Webkit.  ITANA delivers your Lotus Notes ToDo's and Journal to your iPhone or Android device, and mAdressBook allows you to easily view contacts from your Domino directory to make calls and email them.

Hughes Connect has added 5 licenses of their mAddressBook product to our Prize Packs. mAddressBook is an XPage application formatted for mobile phones to give access to the Domino Directory and users contact information.

Planet Lotus
Yancy Lent over at the great Planet Lotus site has very graciously added a link to Wiki Madness to the top of the home screen.

RIM
The company behind the world class BlackBerry phones has given us various items for the Prize Packs.

Ytria
Ytria makes excellent tools geared to help the Notes Developer or Administrator work faster and more effectively.

They've donated to Wiki Madness 2 licenses:

1 licence to their EZ Suite.  This is Admin OR Developer.  The selected person can choose the suite that they want.
1 license to ScanEZ.

scanEZ offers Lotus Notes developers and Domino administrators faster ways to access data inside in a Notes database; faster ways to edit data; better ways to search through data; and new ways to solve common Notes database problems—all without any views or agents.

We also want to thank IBM for featuring us on the DeveloperWorks Lotus website.

Chris and I want to thank all the sponsors and contributors for participating in our event.  We've had over 27 contributions to the Lotus Product Wiki's so far and I've had several discussions with Notes Developers who didn't even know the wiki's existed.

Stay Tuned - We're already in discussions with another great company!

Want a chance to receive a great reward?  All you need to do is Wiki.  Have you Wiki'd today?

Watch out for the Wiki "Gotcha's"

Category wikimadness
If you're posting code on the wikis be careful.  I talked to a couple who were having problems.

If the code you're posting has a $ in it then you need to escape it by putting a \ in front if it:

\$

If the code you're posting as a pipe "|" in it then you need to mark this for "No Wiki Markup" by using three {} on each side.

{{{|}}}

That should fix any problems.
