3 Stages of Speaking - Stunned, Scared and Excited

Category Speaking
So the other day I was sitting at my computer pretty much minding my own business and the most interesting thing happened to me.  I had 2 sametime windows pop up almost at the exact "same time".  The first was from Joyce @ IBM asking my to speak at today's Technical Community call.  That was for 2-3 minutes about my efforts with the Lotus community.  That went pretty well I think.  It was a good call overall.  Lots of good info.  There will be a replay available somewhere.

The second window was something else.  An invitation to speak at the upcoming TriState Lotus Users Group meeting.  I mean WOW!  I was stunned!!!  Check out this list of great speakers (minus me of course)  There isn't a person on that list that I wouldn't want to miss talking about any given topic.  I really don't know what I'm doing there with them, I'm clearly the rookie in the group.

I like ScreenCasting.  You take a topic and present it.  Nice and easy.  There are no technical problems. Re-takes, editing and post production is like your favorite blanket.  It's safe and secure.  Recently I did a webinar for Lotus Education Online - ok, it similar to screencasting, but LIVE!  Now in New York I'll be live and IN PERSON!  At least I'm assuming that they won't let me record my session and just hit "Play" when the time comes!

Anyway, I'm excited and very grateful for the opportunity!  I'm going to do my best of course. Already started working on it. I don't want to give the title or abstract until it's approved but needless to say it'll be on XPages.

So if you're going to be around the 8th or 9th please say hi!  I'll be taking the train up (or is it down) from Lancaster, PA on sunday.  I'll be making some pilgrimage to the glass Apple Store at some point and will also be around Monday night.

Hope to see you there!!
