Designer has been Freed!

Category Awesome
Like a person wrongly accused of a crime, Designer 8.5.1 has been freed by IBM.  The one armed man has been found and Designer is now free from it's 4 foot by 8 foot cell that resembles a cubicle.

The roots of Notes was not only Rapid Application Development, but also that ANYONE could create an application if they had the desire.  I'm excited to see this return to the "way it was"!

Now this is going to be a good day!

Gravatar Image1 - I have seen that ANYONE person develop crappy stuff and in the end, it didn't help Notes' reputation at all in that company.

I guess we'll all have to double check our server security and all ACLs!!!

Bit it is terrific news indeed, as it will most probably generate demand for the real developers ;)

Gravatar Image2 - Benoit,
I'd agree that some of the apps that the "ANYONE" person developed weren't very good at all. And that's a good point. But the Apps that ANYONE developed were probably used by more then ANYONE. They were likely used by ANYONE and the people in the immediate area.
Useing or wanting to use Notes is the first hurdle. Free Designer helps that. Using Designer "properly"? That's something else.

But the more "real developers" that get their hands on this, then the more better apps we're all going to see.
