Christmas Games

Category Christmas

I'm not sure where we came up with it, but last year the family started playing a game where we would look for Christmas Trees on cars and get points for them.  We'd try to see who got the most trees.

The rules are relatively simple.  The tree MUST by on or in the car.  Today we were out and drove by a a tree lot and saw a tree getting ready to go - but it wasn't on the car yet.  The first one to call it gets the point.

We've since expanded it to included some recognition for other decoration.  Around here some people will put wreaths on the front of their car.  We've even seen a couple of cars with Reindeer antlers out the windows and a big red "Nose" on the front of the car.  Since that's so rare, we're calling it 2 points for the wreaths and antlers.

I think I'm leading in the tally with 27 to my wife's 26.  The kids being 5 and 8 are doing well as they're both in double digits.

Just a silly game that we like to do as a build up to Christmas...

Here are two pictures.  In the second one you can see TWO cars with trees on them.

Gravatar Image1 - Lovely pix,.. but hwere are u? cause, it looked too clear and warm to be any place where they traditionally do Christmas trees...Maybe I am just jealous cause last week we had an ice storm and today we had a foot of snow and tomrrow we're supposed to get ANOTHEr foot.....

Gravatar Image2 - I'm in Central Pennsylvania. Near Hershey and Lancaster. These pictures were taken the Saturday after Thanksgiving so there was no snow in the area really. My wife and mother in law went to see a movie or something that day, so I took the kids to a mall in Lancaster 30 minutes away so they could play in a little indoor playground. Little did I know that on that route there would be 3-4 tree farms. We ended up seeing something like 24 trees on 18 cars. (Some cars had multiples). Record day really. My wife was a little miffed at missing it. So she took the total and divided by three (my and the kids) just so she'd have a chance. haha!

I've seen about the ice storms up North. I hope everyone there is warm and safe. I remember working in Philadelphia in the winter of 93 and we were hit with Ice storm after ice storm. There was no fun at all in that.
